Squirt is knit seamlessly from the bottom of the cords to the top of the hat. Cords and earflaps are made using double point needles, with increases at the top of the cords forming the earflaps. Earflaps are then joined along with cast on stitches to get the entire hat going on circular needles. Knit the ribbing edge, stockinette body, use decreases to shape the top, and then make a little more cord to form a cute loop to finish.
This pattern uses the techniques of knitting I-cord on double point needles, basic increase and decrease stitches for shaping, knit and purl stitches, and knitting in the round on circular needles.
